Udaipur Horror: RS MP Meena Receives Death Threat

Visiting the grieving family of the Udaipur horror attack, Dr Meena announced that he will give a month's salary to the family of Kanhaiya Lal

JAIPUR: The death threats, following the horrific murder of Kanhaiya Lal Teli in Udaipur, continued unabated in Rajasthan. Following the death threats to two individuals from Bhilwara, Rajya Sabha MP Dr Kirodi Lal Meena, on Monday, said that he received a death threat letter at his Delhi residence for supporting Teli’s family in Udaipur.

Visiting the grieving family of the tailor, who was gruesomely murdered inside his shop in Udaipur for posting a message in support of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, Dr Meena announced that he will give his one-month salary to the family of Kanhaiya Lal.

According to Dr Meena, when the news of his support to the family was published, a man named Kadir Ali sent him this letter.

“In the letter, it was stated that because I helped the Kanhaiya Lal family in Udaipur, I am being targetted by this guy,” Dr Meena said. “But I want to make it clear that I won’t be intimidated by these threats. In Rajasthan, zealots are rising everywhere threatening not just common people but political leaders. This is all the state government’s fault as it didn’t take action against such zealots on time,” the veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said.

Dr Meena had written a letter to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Union minister of state for home affairs Nityanand Rai and the Delhi police commissioner and requested them to take action in this matter.
