Two Al-Badr Terrorists Killed In Kashmir Gunfight

SRINAGAR: Two terrorists belonging to the terrorist outfit Al-Badr were killed by security forces in an overnight gunfight in Mitrigam area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir on Thursday.

The terrorists have been identified as Aijaz Hafiz and Shahid Ayub, said Inspect General of Police (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar. Two AK-47 rifles have also been recovered from the encounter site.

“They belonged to the Al-Badr outfit and were involved in a series of attacks on labourers belonging to other states, in Pulwama in March-April 2022,” the IGP said.

“Both of them have been identified as local terrorists namely Aijaz Hafiz and Shahid Ayub, of the Al-Badr outfit. Two AK rifles were recovered. They had been involved in a series of attacks on outside labourers in Pulwama in the month of March-April 2022: IGP Kashmir,” Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet.

The encounter broke out on Wednesday evening when a joint team of police and the Army launched a cordon and search operation in the area to flush out terrorists.
