NEW DELHI: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday expressed his disappointment over the “targeted strenuous investigations” by the central government’s agencies and challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resign from his post if nothing is found against him in the new CBI inquiry into the renovation of his official residence.

Kejriwal said the BJP wants him to join them, but he is not going to bow down before them.

“Now he has started a CBI investigation into the CM’s residence. This shows that the Prime Minister is nervous. Investigations against me are not new. So far, investigations have been conducted against me in more than 50 cases in the last 8 years,” he tweeted.

His tweet further reads: “The PM said that I had committed scams in schools, buses, excise policy, roads, water, and electricity. I may have been the most investigated person in the world, but nothing was found in any case. Nothing will be found in this also. Since I have not done anything wrong, then how will you find anything?”

The chief minister also said that the BJP is playing dirty tactics of unleashing an investigation or giving speeches all the time.

Reviving his jibe of ‘Chauthi Pass Raja’ (uneducated king), he said: “He just plays dirty tactics of unleashing an investigation or giving speeches all the time. They want me just like other leaders and parties, I should also join them, but I am not going to bow down before them. I am challenging the PM that, just like in previous investigations, if nothing is proved in this too, will he resign from his post for conducting a false investigation?”

Talking to the media, Kejriwal said that the BJP has not been able to find anything against him in the past 50 inquiries and 33 cases, and the new CBI inquiry will also yield nothing.

“These people want me to bow down before them, they want to break me apart. But that would not happen. Kejriwal will never bow down. No matter how many fake inquiries they conduct, and fake cases are filed against me,” Kejriwal said.
