Balancing Growth with Regulation
Industry leaders acknowledged the role of the Tamil Nadu Online Gaming Authority (TNOGA) in regulating real-money gaming, while emphasising that mainstream video games and esports require a different policy approach to safeguard innovation. Ongoing consultations aim to strike a balance between protecting users—especially minors—and enabling industry growth.
The strategic plan emerging from the meeting includes:
- Infrastructure Expansion – Establishing gaming incubation centres and dedicated esports arenas.

The meeting is widely seen as a milestone in India’s gaming journey, marking Tamil Nadu’s transition from a promising player to a potential global leader in the space. With robust state backing and active industry engagement, the foundation has been laid for a thriving, future-ready gaming ecosystem.
