NEW DELHI: Swiggy Instamart has rolled out a 24×7 free delivery service across Delhi-NCR, becoming the first quick commerce platform to offer round-the-clock convenience in the region. The service comes just in time for the festive season, ensuring customers in Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida can access tens of thousands of products, including groceries, festive treats, and last-minute essentials, delivered in just 10-15 minutes.

“We’ve seen a growing demand for late-night orders, especially during festive celebrations,” Swiggy said in a statement. “Instamart’s internal analysis shows that orders for snacks, ice creams, and sexual wellness products peak between 11 PM and 6 AM, while staples like milk and eggs dominate early morning orders.”

The launch positions Swiggy Instamart as a key player in the quick commerce market, as it faces competition from Flipkart’s recently debuted quick delivery service, ‘Minutes’, in the national capital region. Flipkart offers free delivery on orders above ₹99, challenging Instamart and other competitors like Blinkit and Zepto.

Swiggy Instamart’s move is timely as it gears up for an IPO. The Bengaluru-based company recently filed its updated draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI. The IPO will include a fresh issuance of shares worth ₹3,750 crore and an offer for sale of 18.53 crore equity shares.

“During festive occasions like Diwali, customers often find themselves needing last-minute items throughout the night,” Swiggy added. “Our new 24×7 service is designed to meet these needs without any delivery charges.”

The quick commerce platform, launched in 2020, currently operates in 43 cities across India. After the Delhi-NCR launch, Instamart plans to expand this 24×7 service to other major cities, aiming to reach more consumers nationwide.

On the financial front, Swiggy’s net loss widened by over 7% to ₹605.7 crore in the first quarter of FY25, while operating revenue jumped 35% to ₹3,222.2 crore during the same period.

Swiggy’s entry into the IPO space and its 24×7 delivery launch signal its focus on tapping into the increasing demand for quick commerce, particularly during India’s festive season.
