Startup Mahakumbh to illuminate Bharat Mandapam from March 18: Piyush Goyal

NEW DELHI: In a significant announcement on Saturday, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced that a three-day extravaganza, the ‘Startup Mahakumbh,’ will be organised at Bharat Mandapam from March 18 to 20. Goyal, highlighting India’s status as the third-largest startup ecosystem globally, urged participants to showcase the nation’s tale of talent, youth, innovation, and technology.

With over 1.17 lakh startups officially recognised by the government, the event aims to bring together startups, unicorns, and soonicorns, offering a comprehensive view of India’s entrepreneurial landscape. Goyal expressed his enthusiasm for the event, envisioning it as the largest congregation of startups, fostering collaboration, and demonstrating India’s entrepreneurial prowess.

Reflecting on the success of the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, which was organised by the Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with various ministries and industry bodies, Goyal lauded it as a phenomenal success. The expo brought the entire mobility ecosystem together, attracting over 1,000 exhibitors and emphasising a national approach.

“The entire mobility ecosystem at one platform, in one exposition with the whole of the nation approach. Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 with a subtheme very appropriate in the context of India, today’s new India of today. Beyond boundaries co-creating future automotive value chains has been a phenomenal success with the last figures of exhibitors being at about 1,000 plus exhibitors,” Goyal said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed industry leaders during the ‘Bharat Mobility Global Expo-2024.’

Goyal shared staggering figures, revealing that, until the recent update, the exhibition had garnered 1,28,000 registered visitors, with 34,000 business visitors making it a comprehensive showcase at the Bharat Mandapam.

In addition to the startup confluence, Goyal announced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inauguration of the ‘Bharat Tex 2024 Expo,’ a four-day textiles exhibition scheduled from February 26 to 29. Positioned as the largest textile fair globally in terms of exhibition area, the event will unfold at the Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi complexes in New Delhi.

The industry-led initiative, organised jointly by textile-related export promotion associations, including the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), is poised to redefine the global textile landscape.
