NEW DELHI: Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, on Saturday lauded the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris for completing fifty years of spiritual service and moral guidance. Speaking at the inaugural celebrations of the organisation’s Golden Jubilee, Sonowal described the Brahma Kumaris as a “transformative force” promoting human values and national unity through spirituality.
In his keynote address, the Minister said, “For the last fifty years, the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris have nurtured not just individual souls but the very soul of our society.” He praised their unwavering mission rooted in meditation, discipline, and moral clarity, calling it a living embodiment of ‘Antyodaya’—uplifting the last person in the queue—a vision championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sonowal noted that the organisation’s values align closely with the Prime Minister’s development mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” adding that these are not mere slogans but spiritual commitments to inclusive growth.
He further emphasised the enduring relevance of sacrifice, patience, and self-discipline, calling them timeless foundations of true patriotism. “Just as a mother moulds a child with patience and values, organisations like the Brahma Kumaris shape society by nurturing character and self-realisation,” he said.
Calling for spiritual guidance amid rapid societal change, the Minister said today’s youth must be equipped with “Sahan shakti”—the strength of endurance—to navigate a complex world.
Highlighting the Northeast’s growing role in India’s national vision, Sonowal reaffirmed Prime Minister Modi’s description of the region as “Ashta Lakshmi”—the eight embodiments of prosperity. “The Northeast will lead not just in economic progress but also in moral and spiritual leadership,” he stated.
Expressing gratitude for being invited to the celebration, Sonowal commended the Brahma Kumaris for their decades-long service and concluded, “If we move forward guided by these principles, we can truly build a strong, united, and morally empowered Maha-Bharat.”
