Delhi Police on Monday informed the Saket Court that the bones of Shraddha Walkar, who was killed by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawala in May, have been recovered from a jungle in the national capital on November 20. Along with it, her broken jaw has also been recovered.

Seeking further custody of Aaftab, Police also informed the court that a detailed site plan has been found at Aaftab’s house which may assist in further search.

During the court hearing, where later the court granted four days of police custody, the IO (Investigating Officer) of the case informed the court “some more parts of the bones of the deceased have been recovered from the jungle and jaws of the deceased have been recovered on November 20.”

As per the court order, a copy of which is with The New India, the IO also said : “It is submitted that teams of CFSL/CBI have also been called at the spot for inspection. The IO has requested for extension of police custody on the ground that more parts of the body/bones and weapons can be recovered on the basis of disclosure of the accused. It is further submitted that a rough site plan has been found at the house of the accused which may assist in the further search programme.”

The IO further said that it was submitted that custodial interrogation of the accused would be required to connect the chain of events involved in the crime.

Sources in the Delhi police said Aaftab after killing Shraddha also broke down her jaws with hammers so that it could easily be stuffed in the bags. The Delhi Police have also recorded the statement of the shopkeeper from where he bought a hammer, nails and iron saw.

The team took him to the shop and cross-checked his claims. It is suspected that with the same hammers he broke down her jaws. The mystery of nails is yet to be revealed.

A total of 13 parts of the human body have been recovered so far. The DNA sample which is taken from Shraddha’s father is yet to be matched with the recovered body parts.
