New Delhi: In a significant action against inadequate policing, seven officers from two police stations in northeast Delhi have been transferred to district lines due to their failure to address the activities of a notorious crime syndicate in the area.

The decision follows numerous complaints of violence and intimidation by the syndicate, which had reportedly thrived due to the inaction of local police.

The affected officers include:

Nand Nagri Police Station: Head Constables Puneet Yadav and Arvind Kumar, and Constables Sandeep Kumar and Jitendra Singh.
Karawal Nagar Police Station: Head Constables Surendar Pal Singh and Arvind Kumar, and Constable Kapil Kumar.
“These officers have been placed under suspension,” said an official who preferred to remain anonymous.

Previously, Inspector Pramod Anand, the SHO of Kalkaji Police Station, was transferred to district lines as a disciplinary measure following the arrest of a Sub-Inspector from the same station by the CBI for accepting a bribe.
