New Delhi: Union Minister Sardar Hardeep Singh Puri, in the presence of DSGMC President Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka and Takht Patna Sahib Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee President Sardar Jagjot Singh Sohi, held a press conference to announce that the Jore Sahib — the sacred footwear of Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur — will be transferred to Patna Sahib, the birthplace of the revered Guru.
The leaders outlined plans for the preservation, public display, and permanent custodianship of the historic relic.
They further informed that the Yatra schedule for transporting the Jore Sahib will be finalized shortly, with appropriate arrangements being coordinated by the relevant religious authorities to ensure adherence to Sikh traditions and protocols.
Addressing the gathering, Sardar Hardeep Singh Puri expressed his gratitude for being entrusted with the responsibility of preserving the Jore Sahib, describing it as a “privilege and a sacred duty to safeguard the legacy of Guru Gobind Singh.”
The transfer of the Jore Sahib to Patna Sahib is expected to be a momentous occasion for the Sikh community, drawing devotees from across India and abroad, and reinforcing the significance of safeguarding religious and cultural heritage.
