NEW DELHI: In recognition of his fearless and impactful journalism, Rohan Dua, Executive Editor at The New Indian, was honoured with the Justice Media Award 2025 by the North Delhi Lawyers Association (NDLA) during its 3rd Annual Conference held at Magnolia Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

The conference, themed “Bar, Bench, and News Reports: A Bridge Between Common Citizens,” brought together eminent members of the judiciary, legal fraternity, and media to discuss the role of journalism in bridging the gap between the courts and the public.

The Justice Media Award is among India’s most esteemed recognitions in legal journalism, celebrating the efforts of journalists who have significantly contributed to public understanding of the law, judicial processes, and citizens’ legal rights.

Mr. Dua was felicitated for his commitment to truth, integrity, and responsible legal reporting. His work, especially in covering stories that reveal the intricacies of India’s justice system, has consistently amplified public awareness and fostered greater accountability.

In his acceptance speech, Rohan Dua said,

“In an era of noise and misinformation, journalism rooted in facts and fairness becomes even more vital. I am grateful to NDLA for this recognition, and I dedicate this award to all journalists who continue to report on justice without fear or favour.”

Justice Hemant Gupta, delivering the keynote address, praised the media’s role in promoting transparency in legal matters and called for continued collaboration between the press and legal institutions.

Organized annually since 2022, the NDLA’s Justice Media Awards aim to foster responsible legal journalism and highlight its importance in a democratic society.
