Chahat Pandey aims to contribute to her birthplace, Madhya Pradesh, through her association with AAP

Actress Chahat Pandey has played lead roles in popular serials such as "Hamari Bahu Silk", "Pakhi Parekh", and "Durga Mata Ki Chhaya".

NEW DELHI: Inspired by Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his style of governance, popular television actress Chahat Mani Pandey joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in New Delhi on Thursday.

Interacting with media persons, Pandey expressed her admiration for the AAP national convener for deliver on his promises and said she was willing to contribute to her birthplace Madhya Pradesh.

AAP general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Dr Sandeep Pathak warmly welcomed Pandey into the party by presenting her with a cap and scarf.

Hailing from MP’s Damoh, the actress made her career debut in 2016 with the TV series “Pavitra Bandhan”, which earned her significant acclaim. She has since played lead roles in popular serials such as “Hamari Bahu Silk”, “Pakhi Parekh”, and “Durga Mata Ki Chhaya”.

She was honored with the Best Actor Award by the National Academy of Television in 2020-21. Additionally, she actively engages in social work and is associated with the Niswarth Seva Sanghathan in Damoh.

Upon accepting her membership in AAP, the actress expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am thankful to the Aam Aadmi Party for allowing me to become a part of their family and contribute to my birthplace, Damoh, and Madhya Pradesh.”

“As an actress, this is a dream come true for me. I firmly believe that while we pursue our own lives, we also have a responsibility towards our place of origin. Fulfilling that duty is essential. By joining the Aam Aadmi Party, I aim to fulfill that duty.”

She further said, “Kejriwal Ji and his party emphasize good work over negative politics. They prioritize education and healthcare. That is what inspired me.”

Speaking on the occasion, Pathak commented on the growing popularity of AAP in Madhya Pradesh, saying that people of the state are fed with the rules of the BJP and Congress.

“There is little difference between the two governments. The people are now inclined to give the AAP a chance, and our party’s reach is expanding in all directions,” he said.
