NEW DELHI: Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s debut appearance on Karan Johar’s ‘Koffee with Karan 8’ has evoked a diverse range of responses from Twitter users and the online community. While many have praised them as the ideal couple, others have drawn comparisons between Ranveer’s account of his love story with Deepika and his previous narrative with Anushka Sharma on the show.

People are making a connection between how he recounted his initial encounter with Anushka and the way he described his meeting with Deepika at director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s residence during the making of the film ‘Ram-Leela.’

One X user wrote, “#RanveerSingh, the greatest wattpad story writer of our generation.” He also went on to say that the episode, which aired on Disney+ Hostar, on October 26 was a ‘fake PR stunt’. Another added, “OMG #RanveerSingh, Same story, same show, just a different cast.”

On the chat show, the Bollywood pair shared their four-minute-long wedding video with the public for the very first time. Ranveer also disclosed that they have been secretly engaged since 2015.

The ‘Pathaan’ actor also disclosed in their frank conversation that she and Ranveer weren’t exclusive until he proposed in the Maldives. “There was no commitment as such until he proposed to me,” the actress remarked.

“Even if we were technically allowed to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other,” she added.

One X user also reacted to this by saying “I wasn’t committed so I was dating other people while also dating him. 5 secs later. I don’t know/I can’t remember whether I was dating other people or who I was dating when I was dating him. Either stick to the script or learn how to lie lmao.”

The couple tied the knot in a lavish private ceremony in November 2018 in Italy’s Lake Como.
