Raj Govt To Set Up Para-Sports Academy

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved an amount of Rs 14.14 crore for setting up a Para-Sports Academy for Para sportspersons in Jodhpur.

In this academy, modern facilities will be provided to para players for high technical training, training and practice.

As per the proposal, this academy will be set up in Government Physical Education College Campus, Jodhpur and it will be operated at Umaid Stadium, Jodhpur till the necessary infrastructure is ready on the college campus.

In this academy, 25 talented players (15 shooting and 10 table tennis) from the state of Rajasthan will be selected. Education, medical, training, accommodation, food and other necessary facilities will be provided free of cost to the players by the Rajasthan State Sports Council.

Apart from this, sports training will be provided by the coaches in the morning and evening as per the prescribed time. Education will also be provided to the players by getting them admitted to the nearest school.

With the approval of the Chief Minister, recurrent and non-recurring expenditure of the Academy, the establishment of the Performance Training Center, purchase of sports equipment and construction of a hostel building can be done.

In the budget announcement for the year 2022-23, the Chief Minister announced to set up Para Sports Academy in Jaipur and Jodhpur for Para athletes.
