NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to embark on the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ starting from Manipur’s Imphal on January 14. The journey, under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, will traverse through 15 states and culminate in Mumbai, covering a distance of over 6,700 kilometres in 67 days.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge unveiled the logo and tagline, “Nyay Ka Haq Milne Tak”. The yatra, starting from Imphal, aims to touch 110 districts, 100 Lok Sabha seats, and 337 assembly seats. General Secretary In-Charge Communications Jairam Ramesh and General Secretary KC Venugopal were also present for the unveiling event held at AICC headquarters in Delhi

Kharge, at a press conference, highlighted the comprehensive scope of the yatra, stating, “This yatra will cover 110 districts, 100 Lok Sabha seats, and 337 assembly seats. We are going to start the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ from January 14 under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, which will pass through 15 states of the country before concluding in Mumbai.”

Rahul Gandhi took to social media and said, “We are coming back among our own people, against injustice and ego – by raising the slogan of justice. I swear on this path of truth, the journey will continue until I get the right to justice.”

The yatra is strategically planned to engage with the public on basic issues, fostering a connection between leaders and citizens. The Congress considers this march, labelled ‘satyagraha,’ a potent tool in advocating for public rights and deems it a transformative initiative for the country.

The Yatra will pass through seven districts of Chhattisgarh in February, where the party recently faced defeat against BJP in the assembly elections. According to a map released by the party, it will cover the states of Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra in over 66 days and culminate in Mumbai.

Political experts believe that the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ holds particular significance for the Congress in Chhattisgarh, where the party aims to boost morale ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The yatra seeks to rejuvenate party workers, especially after the setback faced in the recent assembly polls.
