PM Modi To Launch Rs 14,500 Cr Development Projects In Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of a slew of development projects worth Rs 14,500 crores and declare Modhera as India’s first solar-powered village during a three-day visit to his home state Gujarat, starting Sunday.

On the first day of his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple projects worth over Rs 3900 crores, including a light and sound show at Sun Temple, at Modhera village in Mehsana district.

He will declare Modhera village as India’s first 24×7 solar-powered village. “The first-of-its-kind project realises the PM’s vision of solarisation of the sun-temple town of Modhera,” said the prime minister’s office (PMO).

It involved developing a ground-mounted solar power plant and more than 1300 rooftop solar systems on residential and government buildings, all integrated with a Battery Energy storage system (BESS).

Other projects to be dedicated to the nation in Mehsana include the Gauge Conversion of the Sabarmati-Jagudan segment of the Ahmedabad-Mehsana Gauge Conversion project; ONGC’s Nandasan Geological oil production project; Sujalam Sufalam Canal from Kherava to Shingoda Lake;  Dharoi Dam Based Vadnagar Kheralu and Dharoi Group Reform Scheme; and Projection Mapping at Sun Temple at Modhera.

After the public function, PM Modi will perform darshan and puja at Modheshwari Mata Temple. He will also visit the Sun temple where he will witness the beautiful projection mapping show.

On Monday, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate various projects of over Rs 8000 crores at Amod in Bharuch, including the foundation laying of Bulk Drug Park at Jambusar, taking another step to make India self-reliant in the pharmaceutical sector.

In 2021-22, bulk drugs accounted for more than 60 per cent of total pharmaceutical imports. “The project will play a key role in ensuring import substitution and helping make India self-reliant for bulk drugs,” the PMO stated.

He will also lay the foundation stone of the Deep Sea Pipeline Project at Dahej, which will help in the disposal of treated wastewater from industrial estates.

The Prime Minister will perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the development of multiple industrial parks, including four Tribal Industrial Parks which will come up in Valia, Bharuch; Agro Food Park at Mudetha; Sea Food Park at Kakwadi Danti in Valsad; and MSME Park at Khandivav in Mahisagar.

On Tuesday, he will dedicate and lay the foundation stone of various healthcare facilities having an estimated expenditure of around Rs 1300 crores in Civil Hospital Asarwa, Ahmedabad. It includes the dedication of new and improved facilities for cardiac care and a new hostel building in the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre; a new hospital building of the Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre; a new building of the Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute. Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of shelter homes to accommodate families of poor patients.

In Jamnagar, PM Modi will launch and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 1460 crores in the sector of irrigation, power, water supply and urban infrastructure.
