PM Modi indirectly attacks AAP; says country must be wary of ‘neutral’ forces

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech at the Delhi BJP headquarters addressing karyakartas of the party following a historic win in Gujarat attacked the Aam Aadmi Party in a cryptic reference to “neutral forces”and a party that “lost deposit in Uttarakhand and Himachal”. He said, “We must analyse the past few elections on a large canvas. Parties that call themselves neutral, we must try and understand where they stand and what games they play and how they change colours. They have lost deposits in Uttarakhand and Himachal but no one is discussing that.”

PM Modi’s comments come on a day when AAP won five seats in the Gujarat Assembly Elections and secured 13 per cent  of the vote share, as per AAP making it a national party. It also comes a day after the AAP registered a decisive victory in civic polls in the. national capital ending BJP’s 15 years of uninterrupted reign.

The PM also said that such negative and adverse forces have always attacked him but it was necessary for BJP workers to be more resilient than ever before.

It was not just AAP that came in for criticism. PM Modi came down heavily on Congress and said the reason BJP keeps winning elections and the youth of the nation stands with the saffron party is because they are fed up with casteist and nepotistic politics. “The election results in the past few years are reflective of the country’s youth’s frustration with nepotism and casteist politics. Youth wants vision,” he said.

Celebrating the grandest victory in history that BJPh as recorded in the state of Gujarat the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the people of Gujarat. “More than one crore first time voters voted for BJP and youth voted for BJP only because they trust BJP. It says a lot. It shows youth saw our work, tested our work and trusted us. It shows that youth never fall into the trap of jativad aur  parivarbaad,” Prime minister stated.

Emphasising BJP’s focus on tribal empowerment the Prime Minister said, “BJP is the only party that commemorates the life of tribal freedom fighters. We made attempts for the election of the country’s first tribal president,” he said.

 

On Himachal Pradesh he said, “We lost by a difference of 1 per cent votes. But Himachal Pradesh will get its due. We do not do negative politics. We fulfil all promises made to Himachal.”

“We do not run the government on the basis of which place has how many voters. We do not announce just for the sake of announcing. It is clear that the country do-not want any shortcuts” said the PM.

The Prime Minister was speaking at the Delhi BJP headquarter in the presence of several senior leaders of the party that included JP Nadda, Rajnath Singh, and Amit Shah.

BJP has won 157 seats out of 182 Assembly units and in Himachal 25 seats, where Congress final tally stood at 40 seats.
