Summary

PM Modi, after Operation Sindoor, warned India’s adversaries, vowing retaliation for attacks. He credited indigenous defense capabilities, highlighting BrahMos missiles and drone precision. He criticized the opposition’s security record and emphasized economic self-reliance, promoting Swadeshi products and UP’s transformation.

Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his first visit to Varanasi after the successful Operation Sindoor, issued a strong warning to India’s adversaries, declaring, “Whoever attacks India will not be safe even in hell.”

The Prime Minister recalled the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 innocent lives, including many women and children. He said he had prayed to Baba Vishwanath to give strength to the bereaved families and vowed to avenge the “sindoor of the daughters.” Operation Sindoor, he said, was the fulfillment of that pledge.

‘Rudra’ Form of India

Drawing on spiritual symbolism, PM Modi said that while Shiva represents welfare, the deity also manifests as Rudra when confronting evil.

“From the sacred soil of Varanasi, I say this is a new India – one that worships Lord Bholenath but also becomes Kaal Bhairav when the nation is threatened,” he said.

He condemned sections of the opposition for allegedly downplaying the operation, questioning why they were “mourning for terrorists” destroyed in Pakistan. “Some called it a ‘tamasha’… Can the bravery of our armed forces and the sacrifice of our sisters be called a spectacle?” he asked.

Indigenous Defence Power on Display

The PM credited the success of Operation Sindoor to India’s indigenous defence capabilities, stating that the operation showcased the precision of home-grown air defence systems, missiles, and drones.
Key highlights included:

  • BrahMos Missiles – A key deterrent, now to be manufactured in Lucknow as part of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor.

  • Indian drones and missiles precisely targeted and destroyed terrorist headquarters and Pakistani air bases.

  • Enhanced defence manufacturing in UP, with multiple private and public sector units investing in the state.

“If Pakistan commits another misdeed, missiles made in Uttar Pradesh will destroy the terrorists,” PM Modi asserted.

Criticism of Opposition’s Security Record

PM Modi accused previous governments of appeasement politics and giving “clean chits” to terrorists during their tenure in Uttar Pradesh. He said that unlike in the past, the current government does not delay in eliminating threats.

He reminded the audience of the unity of 140 crore Indians during Operation Sindoor, calling it the spirit behind India’s strong response to terrorism.

Economic Vigilance and National Interest

Linking national security with economic self-reliance, the PM stressed that as India moves towards becoming the third-largest economy, the nation must safeguard its economic and strategic interests. He called for the adoption of Swadeshi products as a patriotic duty, urging traders to sell and citizens to buy locally made goods.

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister praised Uttar Pradesh’s transformation under CM Yogi Adityanath, noting that the state had become a hub for defence manufacturing and a magnet for investment. “Today, criminals are fearful and investors are confident,” he said.

The event reinforced the government’s dual focus on national security and economic development, with PM Modi portraying Operation Sindoor as both a military triumph and a symbol of India’s growing self-reliance.
