NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive gathering at the Viksit Delhi Sankalp Rally at Kartar Nagar Yamuna Khadar on Monday. This was part of the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, themed around the development of Delhi.
The rally saw the presence of senior BJP leaders, including Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, Union Minister Harsh Malhotra, and MPs Manoj Tiwari and Praveen Khandelwal. During his speech, PM Modi criticized the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of corruption and unfulfilled promises.

Modi urged Delhi voters to reject the current government in the February 5 elections and expressed confidence that the BJP would form the next government on February 8. He also emphasised the BJP’s commitment to transforming the national capital into a model city.
“The people of Delhi are tired of the false promises and corruption of the AAP government. It is time for a change. The BJP is committed to making Delhi a world-class city, with modern amenities and a better quality of life for all its residents,” PM Modi declared.
The Prime Minister also addressed the recent controversy surrounding the alleged poisoning of the Yamuna River, a claim made by AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. PM Modi dismissed the allegations as baseless and accused Kejriwal of spreading fear and misinformation for political gain.

“This election is about choosing between development and corruption,” said Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva. He also attacked AAP leaders, referring to allegations of corruption and legal troubles faced by some of its ministers.
The event was attended by BJP district leaders, including Vijender Dhama, Deepak Gaba, Sardar Kuldeep Singh, and Manoj Tyagi. The rally was moderated by North-East Delhi district BJP president Poonam Chauhan.
The rally was attended by thousands of enthusiastic supporters, who cheered and waved BJP flags as PM Modi outlined the party’s vision for a developed Delhi. With the Delhi Assembly elections approaching, the BJP is intensifying its campaign, focusing on issues of governance, corruption, and infrastructure.
The BJP has ramped up its campaign efforts, with PM Modi scheduled to address two more rallies in the city. The party is hopeful that its focus on development and good governance will resonate with the voters and help them secure a victory in the polls.
Meanwhile, AAP has defended its track record, emphasizing its work in education and public services. The coming weeks are expected to see heightened political activity as parties make their final push to woo voters.
