Noida Police Slaps Gangster Act Against Shrikant Tyagi

NOIDA: Hours after his supporters created a ruckus at the Grand Omaxe Society, the Uttar Pradesh police slapped Shrikant Tyagi with the Gangster Act. The illegal properties he created, according to police, will also be seized.

The police said some illegal weapons have also been recovered from his house, therefore some more sections will be added to the FIR.

Tyagi, accused of molesting and abusing a woman resident of Grand Omaxe Society, was on the run till late at night.

Noida Police Commissioner Alok Singh said, “We will book him (Tyagi) under the Gangster Act. We have nabbed six persons who entered society. Legal action will be taken against them as well. We will ensure safety and security to the woman and all the citizens of the society.”

Singh also said two gunners round the clock have been given to the family.

After the second round of drama on Sunday late evening, Singh, District Magistrate LY Suhas, MLA Pankaj Singh and Joint Commissioner Luv Kumar reached the society and met with the victim woman and her family members.

 

The other residents also gathered outside the house of the victim. They all requested the police to increase the vigil in their area. The police, however, remain deployed all around the society located in sector 93, Noida.

Meanwhile, sources said the last location of Shrikant was traced to Hapur as he took the toll from Hapur Toll Plaza. Police said he ran in his Baleno car and one more person was accompanying him. At least eight teams were working to nab him.
