Noida bar plays doctored video of Ram-Ravan samvad; two held

A bar in Noida’s Garden Galleria Mall, Lord of Drinks, has landed in legal trouble after a video of a controversial incident went viral on social media. The incident involved the playing of dialogues from the Hindu epic Ramayana, which were dubbed into a song and played on the dance floor.

The video shows people dancing to the music, which features characters from the Ramayana, including Lord Ram and Ravana. A video showing people dancing to the tunes of the edited video from the Ram-Ravava samvad has gone viral on social media platforms, sparking outrage among Hindu groups who have called for strict action.

Noida’s additional DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi confirmed that an FIR has been registered under Sections 153A and 295A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against three persons.

Police have arrested the owner of the bar, Manak Agrawal, and its manager, Abhishek Soni, while one DJ is yet to be arrested.

The incident has triggered a debate on social media, with many users condemning the distortion of religious movie scenes and playing it in a bar.
