GANDHINAGAR: Koo co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Aprameya Radhakrishna on Tuesday said that the social media industry is evolving rapidly and the next decade is “ours”.

Speaking at a panel discussion at the Digital India Week here, Radhakrishna said that social media is currently centralized. “But in the next five years, the sector will get decentralized and that Koo will enable the same,” he told the audience.

With Koo’s presence in Nigeria, he said, India has become the third country after the United States and China to have a social media platform that is being used in another country.

Launched in March 2020 as a multi-lingual micro-blogging platform, Koo App has enabled Indians to express themselves online in their mother tongue. The App is currently available in 10 languages – Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Assamese, Bengali and English.
