NEW DELHI: The New Aadhaar App has been launched by the Government of India. It brings a major shift in how Aadhaar verification is doneโ€”no physical cards, no photocopies.

In his keynote at a recent stakeholder meeting, Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that AI is the new industrial revolution. He emphasized the integration of AI with Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), with Aadhaar at its core.

He urged all stakeholders to share ideas on AI-DPI synergy while ensuring privacy remains protected. Aadhaar Face Authentication, he said, is a prime example of ease-of-living innovation.

S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, highlighted that Aadhaar supports financial inclusion and economic growth, calling it a sophisticated, privacy-preserving system.

Dr. Saurabh Garg, Secretary, MoSPI, praised UIDAI for expanding Aadhaarโ€™s usage and said that data is a key driver of development.

Neelkanth Mishra, Chairman UIDAI, said Face Authentication is becoming robust and reliable. He added Aadhaar has come far but still has a long journey ahead.

Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO UIDAI, called Face ID the hallmark of Aadhaar verification. He highlighted how Aadhaar is even helping reunite missing children with families, showing its humane side.
