NEW DELHI: The NCC Republic Day Camp 2025 has set a new record with 2,361 cadets, including 917 girls. This is the largest number of female cadets in the camp’s history. The camp features cadets from across India, including 114 from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and 178 from the North East Region. Around 135 cadets from 18 friendly countries are also participating under the Youth Exchange Programme.ย

Addressing a press conference at Delhi Cantt. on January 03, 2025, DG NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh emphasised the campโs aim to enhance personal traits and strengthen values. The camp will be visited by several dignitaries, including the Vice President, Defence Minister, and the Chief Minister of Delhi. The NCCโs marching contingent will participate in the Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2025, with the activities concluding at the PMโs Rally on January 27, 2025.

Lt Gen Singh also reflected on the NCCโs achievements in 2024, marking 76 years of service of the worldโs largest uniformed youth organisation to the nation. He noted that the NCCโs strength has increased from 17 lakh to 20 lakh, with 40% of cadets being girls. The NCC conducted 1,162 Annual Training Camps, six Special National Integration Camps, and 33 Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camps to promote unity and integration.
The NCC also organized several special expeditions. These included mountaineering expeditions to Mt Kang Yatse and Mt Abi Gamin. A sailing expedition covered 1,720 km along the Ganga and Hooghly rivers, and another covered 3,045 km along Indiaโs coastline. The NCC also re-enacted the Dandi March, with 40 cadets traveling 410 km in 14 days.

Other activities included cyclothons from Meerut to New Delhi and Hussianiwala to New Delhi. The NCC also held blood donation camps, donating 40,000 units of blood. Cadets planted over nine lakh trees and participated in the International Day of Yoga and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. This year, the NCC also focused on training in cyber awareness and disaster management, with visits to DRDO, ISRO, and NPCIL.
The NCC continues to grow, empowering cadets and focusing on contemporary challenges. It remains a key organization in shaping Indiaโs future leaders.
