NEW DELHI: In a bid to promote circular fashion and sustainable consumption, leading fashion and lifestyle platform Myntra has rolled out two key initiatives—‘Myntra Cupboard of Care’ and ‘Project Restyle’—under its CSR banner Myntra Cares. Launched in collaboration with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and Saahas Zero Waste, these programs aim to extend the lifecycle of clothes through reuse, recycling, and upcycling.
Timed around World Environment Day, the initiatives focus on building a culture of textile sustainability in Bengaluru. The Myntra Cupboard of Care comprises all-weatherproof kiosks set up outside select tech parks across the city. These donation-and-pick-up stations are open to the public, enabling anyone to donate pre-loved clothes, while those in need can collect them. Unclaimed garments will be sent to Saahas’ textile recovery centre for upcycling into new products.
Apartment Communities Join the Movement
Complementing this public effort is Project Restyle, which targets gated communities. Branded bins have been placed in 20 apartment complexes to collect clothing donations. Saahas Zero Waste will then sort the garments and channel them into reuse, recycling, or upcycling. The process also supports livelihoods for underserved communities engaged in sorting and textile transformation.
Ramesh K N., IAS, Commissioner of Mahadevapura Zone, BBMP, applauded the initiative, stating:
“Myntra’s CSR initiatives present a pragmatic model that addresses both environmental concerns and social equity. We commend Myntra’s approach in making this a collaborative effort that utilizes public spaces for the public good while aligning with BBMP’s sustainability priorities.”
The inaugural Cupboard of Care kiosk has been installed outside Myntra’s headquarters in Kadubeesanahalli, with four more kiosks scheduled to launch in major tech parks by July. In parallel, Project Restyle has begun operating in residential communities, where participating residents can also receive sustainable goodies from Myntra as a token of appreciation.

Speaking on the launch, Govindraj MK, CHRO, Myntra, said:
“With initiatives like the Cupboard of Care and Project Restyle, we’re taking small but meaningful steps toward promoting circular economy in the fashion and textile industry. By enabling reuse, recycling and upcycling of garments, and working closely with communities and partners like BBMP and Saahas Zero Waste, we aim to keep more clothes in use for longer while also supporting the creation of new livelihood opportunities.”
Echoing the sentiment, Shobha Raghavan, CEO of Saahas Zero Waste, emphasized the need for holistic infrastructure and inclusivity in circular fashion.
“Circularity in textiles requires more than just intent, it needs infrastructure, awareness, and inclusive value chains. Through our partnership with Myntra, we are driving measurable impact by generating livelihoods, promoting circular fashion and responsible consumption. By embedding transparency and traceability into these programs, we are working toward a replicable model that other cities can adopt.”
With Bengaluru as its launchpad, Myntra’s latest CSR efforts mark a scalable blueprint for textile sustainability that blends environmental responsibility with social impact.
