NEW DELHI: Advocate General of Punjab Anmol Rattan Sidhu, along with other passengers travelling on the Shatabdi Express, escaped unhurt in a stone-pelting incident that happened on the Delhi-Chandigarh railway line on Tuesday.

AG Sidhu was returning from New Delhi after a Supreme Court hearing regarding the murder of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala which also concerns gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Sidhu was travelling back to Chandigarh from the Kalka Shatabdi Express train.

Incidentally, the coach on which Punjab AG was travelling was pelted with stones, raising many doubts. However, Railway Protection Force sources said that it does not look like a targeted attack as such incidents have also been reported in the past.

According to Northern Railway spokesperson Deepak Kumar, “Somebody pelted stones at Shatabdi Express train near Panipat station.” Kumar also said that only the outer glass was broken while the inner glass remained intact.

The Northern Railway official said that no one was injured in the stone-pelting incident.
