Kailash Kher, renowned Indian singer and songwriter, shares his profound messages and experiences in the second part of Catch The Stars With Rohan Dua. He encourages everyone to persevere on the path of duty, even in the face of obstacles, with his song ‘Sikander.’

Kher clarifies a misconception surrounding his song ‘Anadi Annanta,’ emphasizing that it is his original creation and not a translation of Shankaracharya’s Nirvana Shatakam. He believes that nature’s law ensures finding like-minded companions in life’s journey, as demonstrated by the growth of his band, Kailasa, from 5 to 17 members. Guided by Shiva, the band has maintained unity and set aside egos.

Kher embraces his humility as a facilitator, as seen in his popular songs ‘Alvida’ and ‘Dilruba,’ which resonated with the youth. He emphasizes that his songwriting is derived from deep personal experiences rather than a shallow, spoon-fed life.

Kher’s mission extends beyond his own success, as he actively promotes and provides space for talented folk musicians who often go unnoticed. He credits his entry into Bollywood to jingles, which opened doors for him during challenging times. Vishal-Shekhar’s ‘Allah Ke Bande’ was his breakthrough opportunity. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kher believes in flourishing like a lotus in adverse circumstances.

As part of his lifelong mission, he launched ‘Naayi Uran’ to nurture new talents, prioritizing their growth over his own personal celebrations. Kher’s efforts were acknowledged by renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar, who was surprised by his commitment to fostering fellow singers and creating his own competition.
