New Delhi: The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced a landmark three-year broadcast partnership with JioStar for the Delhi Premier League (DPL), starting with Season 2.

 

Under the agreement, all matches will be televised on Star Sports 2 Hindi and streamed live on JioHotstar, offering uninterrupted coverage of both the men’s and women’s tournaments to cricket fans nationwide.

Season Opener Set for August 2

 

Season 2 kicks off today, August 2, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium with a blockbuster opener between South Delhi Superstarz and defending champions East Delhi Riders.

 

The match will feature star players such as Navdeep Saini, Anuj Rawat, Ayush Badoni, and Digvesh Rathi, setting the stage for a thrilling month-long competition.

 

Tournament Format – Men’s Competition

 

The men’s tournament will feature eight teams, split into two groups:

 

  • Group A: Outer Delhi Warriors, Central Delhi Kings, New Delhi Tigers, North Delhi Strikers
  • Group B: West Delhi Lions, East Delhi Riders, South Delhi Superstarz, Purani Dilli 6

 

Each team will play 10 league matches — home and away against teams in their group and one match each against teams in the opposite group.

 

The top four teams from the league stage will qualify for the playoffs, with the final scheduled for August 31. September 1 has been reserved as a backup day.

Women’s Competition – A Week of Exciting Action

 

The women’s tournament will run from August 17 to 24, featuring four teams in a round-robin format. The top two teams will compete in the final on August 24.
