NEW DELHI: The 8th meeting of the India–US Joint Working Group on Aircraft Carrier Technology Cooperation (JWGACTC) was held from May 13 to 16, 2025, underscoring a decade of collaborative efforts under the India–US Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI).
A six-member US delegation, led by Rear Admiral Casey Moton, Programme Executive Officer (Aircraft Carriers), visited key defence establishments in Delhi and Goa. The opening session took place in New Delhi on May 13 and was co-chaired by Rear Admiral Vishal Bishnoi, Assistant Controller Carrier Projects (ACCP).
During the meeting, Rear Admiral Moton acknowledged the progress achieved by the Joint Working Group over the past 10 years and stressed the strategic value of continued collaboration. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the information exchange and cooperation on aircraft carrier technologies and released a joint statement outlining plans for future engagement.
In Goa, technical and operational discussions were held with Indian Navy aviation specialists, focusing on carrier operations and technological advancements. The visit further cemented the growing partnership between India and the United States in the area of maritime defence.
The meeting is seen as a key milestone in advancing interoperability and innovation in aircraft carrier capabilities, reflecting the shared strategic vision of both nations in the Indo-Pacific region.
