NEW DELHI: “Laapataa Ladies” dominated the Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2025 winning 10 awards. Nitanshi Goel bagged the Best Actress award for her role as Phool Kumari in the movie.
Kiran Rao’s film also won Best Picture, solidifying its place as one of the most acclaimed movies of the year.
At just 17 years old, Nitanshi Goel made history by becoming the youngest recipient of the award.
She accepted the honor from Boman Irani and Bobby Deol. In an emotional speech, she dedicated her win to her mother and all those who supported her journey.
“I dedicate this to my mom, to everyone who loved Phool, to those who accepted me—Nitanshi and Phool. A special thanks to Kiran (Rao) ma’am, Aamir (Khan) sir, and the entire team of Laapataa Ladies. And of course, the universe for making this happen,” she said.
Her victory also drew comparisons to Zaira Wasim, who was previously the youngest nominee for Secret Superstar, another Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao production.
Kartik Aaryan took home the Best Actor award for his stellar performance for “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3”. Meanwhile, action-thriller Kill dominated multiple categories with several accolades.
The two-day International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2025 concluded with an electrifying performance by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
The award show was held in the majestic city of Jaipur, Rajasthan, on March 8 and March 9, the 25th edition of the prestigious awards honored the best of Indian cinema with dazzling performances and notable wins.
Supporting Roles and Musical Achievements
In the supporting categories, Raghav Juyal won Best Performance in a Negative Role for “Kill,” while Janki Bodiwala was named Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Shaitaan.” Musically, Shreya Ghoshal continued her dominance by winning Best Female Playback Singer for “Ami Je Tomar 3.0” from “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3,” marking her tenth win in this category.
IIFA Digital Awards
The IIFA Digital Awards recognized excellence in digital content. “Amar Singh Chamkila” won Best Film, while “Panchayat Season 3” was awarded Best Series. The documentary “Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous” received accolades for Best Docu-Series/Film.
