SHIMLA: Ahead of the assembly elections in the state, scheduled to be held at the end of this year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to take on the challenge posed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The BJP has planned a public relations campaign to counter the roadshow of AAP in Mandi on April 6 with its own show of strength in all assembly constituencies to mark the foundation day of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Himachal.

Mandi is the home district of sitting BJP chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in Himachal. Two national leaders — the national president JP Nadda and union minister Anurag Thakur – come from the state

A target has been fixed to mobilise 5000 workers per assembly on this day. The BJP will also hold a padyatra on this day. A virtual meeting of state BJP office-bearers, district president, in-charge, co-in-charge and divisional president was held in this connection recently.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, BJP State President Suresh Kashyap, Organisation General Secretary Pawan Rana, General Secretary Trilok Jamwal, Rakesh Jamwal and Trilok Kapoor were among those who attended the meet.
