Four Held For Offering Namaz In Lucknow’s LuLu Mall

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday arrested four people on charges of offering Namaz inside LuLu mall in the city last week.

A video of a group of people offering prayers at the mall surfaced on social media on July 12.

On the complaint of LuLu mall public relations officer Sibtain Hussain, the Lucknow Police registered an FIR at Sushant Golf City police station under Sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 295A (insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 505 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on July 14.

According to the FIR, the accused did not take permission to offer prayers inside the mall.

The accused have been identified as Rehan, Atif Khan, Mohammad Lokman, and Mohammad Nouman. They were arrested from the city, the police said.

While Rehan and Atif are from Lucknow, Lokman and Nouman are residents of the Sitapur district.
