Vivek Singh to leave Officer on Special Duty (OSD) position on personal grounds.

NEW DELHI: Vivek Singh, who has been serving as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the finance and corporate affairs minister Nirmala Sitharaman, is set to leave his position on personal grounds, according to a notification released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday. The DoPT stated that the proposal for the curtailment of Vivek Singh’s tenure has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, with the effectivity date set for July 17, 2023.

Singh assumed the role of OSD to the finance minister in January 2021, following his appointment approved by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet. Prior to this position, he had been serving as the Additional Private Secretary (APS) to Sitharaman, a role he held for the past two years. His contribution and support to the minister’s office have been commendable during his tenure.

Having graduated from the prestigious Sriram College of Commerce (SRCC) in Delhi, Vivek Singh brought his expertise and dedication to his responsibilities as OSD and APS, assisting the finance minister in her crucial portfolio. While the notification did not provide specific details about Singh’s reasons for leaving, it acknowledges his departure from the position.
