Mumbai: The inaugural FICCI Young Leaders Summit in Mumbai opened with a strong call for youth-driven transformation, as Shashwat Goenka, Vice Chairman of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group and Chair of the FICCI Young Leaders Forum, told The New Indian that the initiative has grown into a national platform for leadership, policy dialogue, and innovation.

Goenka shared his remarks in an exclusive byte to Nihal Kumar, Correspondent, The New Indian, noting that he was “extremely proud” of how the Young Leaders Forum has expanded across the country. “We have taken it to many corners of the country, we have expanded it, and today is the first time we’re doing the FICCI Young Leaders Summit in Mumbai. The turnout is exceptional,” he said.

Highlighting the summit’s purpose, Goenka stressed the need to bring policymakers, business leaders, young entrepreneurs, and changemakers onto one platform. “We’re here to motivate, we’re here to bring together people who can create and drive change,” he said.

He added that the summit goes beyond its annual gathering and includes sustained work on issues crucial to India’s growth trajectory. “Beyond the events, we actually work between the events on real issues that matter — issues that will help India become a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” he said, underscoring the long-term commitment of India’s youth leadership.

Goenka said the 2025 edition marks “one step in the direction of building towards the future”, with FICCI set to host multiple such engagements to deepen collaboration and national impact through the year.
