NEW DELHI: In one of the most dramatic finishes in recent Test history, Indian fans erupted with chants of “Ham Jeet Gaye” after India defeated England by 6 runs in the 5th Test at The Oval, leveling the series 2–2. 

The thrilling win has gone down as one of India’s narrowest-ever Test victories.

 

 

The winning moment came when Mohammed Siraj bowled a perfect yorker to dismiss Gus Atkinson, sealing India’s victory. England, chasing 373, collapsed for 367 all out despite starting the day at a strong 339–6. In less than an hour, they lost seven wickets for just 66 runs, handing India a sensational comeback win.
