Ex-UP IAS, man-for-all seasons Navneet Sehgal new Prasar Bharati chairman

NEW DELHI: Navneet Sehgal, a 1988-batch retired Uttar-Pradesh cadre IAS, has been handpicked by Centre to be new Prasar Bharati chairman, a post that had been lying vacant for last four years.

Sehgal, who played crucial roles in the Yogi Adityanath government to handle key assignments of investor’s summit while bringing a galaxy of captains of industry while also leading sports department and public relations as its principal secretary, is successor to A Suryaprakash, who had retired in 2020.

Sehgal had last year played a big role in bringing MotoGP event to Noida. He had supperannuated last year.

Sehgal was also a points-man between Centre and UP, often working closely with the office of Prime Minister (PMO) and UP government until last year on facilitation of central schemes, infrastructure projects as well as facilitating media management for the governments time to time.

Sehgal enjoys close proximity to industrialists, Bollywood celebrities, artistes and sports associations, having often chaired meets and gala events across UP.
