‘Enn Mann En Makkal’: BJP state president Annamalai to begin his state-wide padayatra

The final phase of the yatra will cover eight Parliament constituencies in north Tamil Nadu, including three in Chennai.

RAMESWARAM: In a bid to strengthen the Bharatiya Janata Party and make political inroads across Tamil Nadu, state president Annamalai is all set to begin a statewide ‘Padayatra’ from July 28th from Rameswaram.

The motto of the Yathra is to build a strong political base for the BJP, create awareness on the central government projects allotted to the state of Tamil Nadu, and expose the various shortfalls of the DMK government in the state, including corruption and other social issues.

The BJP currently does not have a single Lok Sabha seat in Tamil Nadu; however, it is in an alliance with the AIADMK.

The Tamil Nadu BJP has been criticizing the Tamil Nadu government, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, and the ministers on charges of alleged corruption, breakdown of law and order, and issues concerning the safety of women.

President Annamalai, The State President of the Tamil Nadu Party, Annamalai, is planning to go on a Padayatra walk across Tamil Nadu in the name of ‘En Man, En Makkal’ to gather support and strengthen the party in Tamil Nadu before next year’s parliamentary elections. It will start around 4 o’clock.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Rameshwaram and flag off the padayatra.

“The yathra set to begin tomorrow will make an impact in the state as the party will explain to the people of Tamil Nadu about the duplicity of the DMK government. The Yathra will set a new narrative in the state of Tamil Nadu,” said senior BJP leader and former union minister Prakash Javadedkar to the New Indian.

Arrangements have also been made for a grand public meeting to be held at a private ground near Rameswaram bus stand. For this, the work of setting up a platform in the form of a parliament is going on in full swing. Advertising banners are being erected to welcome the leaders.

So far, more than one and a half lakh people have booked to participate in this padayatra walk of Annamalai. The plan is to cover 100 days, covering all 234 constituencies. The Yatra is being held in five phases.

During this campaign, the state BJP is planning to print 10 lakh books on the achievements of Tamil Nadu and the Tamil people and distribute the letters written by the Tamil Nadu BJP leader to the people of Tamil Nadu.

A public meeting is going to be held at 11 places during the walk.

On Wednesday, along with senior leaders of @BJP, Hon Governor of TN, Thiru RN Ravi, and presented a memorandum seeking his intervention & suitable action concerning Part 2 of DMK files with documents on Benami connected to the DMK Ministers/MLAs/MPs & the first family & 3 scams for a value of ₹5600 Crores.
