Dhami Launches ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign In Uttarakhand

DEHRADUN: Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in Uttarakhand, and appealed to people to hoist the national flag at home.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the people of the country to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign on a large scale,” Dhami told media persons here.

Tricolour will be hoisted in more than 20 lakh houses in the state. We have appealed to the people of the state, NGOs and other organizations to participate in this campaign, he added.

The chief minister also met with eminent persons, members of civil society and representatives of various non-government organisations to promote the campaign.

BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra is in Uttarakhand to oversee preparations for the campaign.

“From August 13 to August 15, all the countrymen have been requested to hoist the tricolour in their homes. It is not just a government programme but reflection of our patriotism,” said Patra.

Asserting that new generation should know more about sacrifices made by armed personnel, CM Dhami said, “Uttarakhand is not just Dev Bhoomi, it is Veer Bhoomi as well. Brave fighters who gave their all for the freedom of India should always be remembered.”

He also urged the people of the hill state to set Tricolour as display picture on social media accounts from August 2 to August 15.

CM Dhami said that 1250 ‘Amrit Sarovar’ will be built in the state.

A ‘Tiranga Yatra’ will also be organised in Dehradun on August 9. A cleanliness campaign will also be launched at memorials of the revolutionaries who laid down their lives for the freedom of the country.

The CM instructed the state information department to publicize about the campaign as much as possible so that so that more and more people can participate in the campaigns.
