NEW DELHI: The Special Cell of the Delhi Police seizes 200 kg of cocaine, worth over Rs 2,000 crore, in Ramesh Nagar, Delhi. The drugs, concealed in namkeen packets, were recovered on Thursday. This bust comes just days after authorities confiscated more than 560 kg of cocaine in a separate operation on October 2.

The police officials said, “Delhi Police Special Cell has recovered a consignment of cocaine from a closed shop in Ramesh Nagar. About 200 kg of drugs have been recovered, whose value in the international market is more than Rs 2,000 crore. This drug was kept in packets of namkeen.” The Special Cell Sources said, “200 kg of cocaine was recovered from the warehouse in Ramesh Nagar. The person who kept the drugs in that warehouse is a UK citizen and after keeping the cocaine there, he is absconding. Police got information about this UK citizen only after interrogating Ekhlaq (arrested in a Rs 5,000 crore drug case).”

According to the Special Cell Sources, a man named Akhlaq, a resident of Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for allegedly transporting the consignment. During his interrogation, police learned that a UK citizen had stored the cocaine in the warehouse and has since fled the country.

This recent seizure comes just days after the Delhi Police’s largest-ever cocaine bust, where 560 kg of the drug was confiscated. Pramod Singh Kushwaha, Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), stated that four individuals, including Tushar Goyal, Himanshu, Aurangzeb, and Bharat Jain, were arrested in that operation. The arrested individuals were caught with 15 kg of cocaine in their possession, while additional drugs were found in a godown in Mahipalpur Extension.
