NEW DELHI: The parents of 16-year-old Sakshi, who was stabbed 24 times by her boyfriend in full public glare two days back, have sought death penalty for killer Sahil Khan. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, her mother said that the family was unaware of Sakshi’s relationship with Sahil – who worked as refrigerator and AC mechanic in Shahbad Dairy area of outer northwest Delhi. Her mother said that Sakshi was a cheerful and independent girl and dreamt of becoming a lawyer. He had recently cleared her class 10 exams and for a month, was staying with a friend whose husband was in jail. She would help her friend take care of her children, she said. On the day of the incident, her mother spoke to her on the phone. Hours later, Sakshi was first stabbed in her chest and face and then crushed under a boulder by Sahil who had a tiff with her a few days earlier. Neighbors described Sakshi as self-reliant and friendly. The postmortem examination found over 30 injury marks, including 24 stab wounds, on Sakshi’s body.
