SRINAGAR: Fresh disclosures from senior intelligence sources shared with The New Indian confirm that on April 20, 2025, notorious Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) figure Mufti Rauf Asghar the architect behind the Uri carnage and Mohammed Umair, nephew of JeM chief Masood Azhar and mastermind of the Pulwama massacre, were sighted participating in a rally at Rawalakot in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
The New Indian has accessed exclusive visuals of the congregation, laying bare Pakistanโs duplicity. Despite repeated assurances of cracking down on terrorism, Islamabad appears to be rekindling its terrorist networks, particularly across PoJK.
Earlier on February 4, 2025, The New Indian had flagged preparations for a major assembly of top terror operatives, including Talha Saif โ sibling of UN-designated terrorist Masood Azhar โ along with JeM commanders Asghar Khan Kashmiri and Masood Ilyas, and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders, in Rawalakot.

Additionally, a February 5, 2025, report by The New Indian uncovered a growing alliance between Hamas and Pakistan-rooted terror groups Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. The collaboration was exposed during a conference held in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, signaling a worrying shift in the regional terror dynamics.
The event, dubbed the Kashmir Solidarity and Al-Aqsa Flood Conference, took place on February 5 at Shaheed Sabir Stadium, where the Prime Minister of PoJK and several senior officials were present.
The gathering was attended by terror operatives, including Talha Saif, senior JeM commanders Asghar Khan Kashmiri and Masood Ilyas, alongside key LeT figures. Notably, Hamas sent an official representative, Dr. Khalid Al-Qadoumi, its envoy to Iran, marking Hamasโ first formal participation in an event inside PoJK. Several Palestinian leaders were also seen at the gathering.
This meeting further unmasks Pakistanโs enduring sponsorship of global terrorism. Both JeM and LeT have been responsible for brutal strikes on Indian territory, including the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and the 2019 Pulwama suicide bombing. Their open participation at a state-supported event starkly highlights Islamabadโs ongoing backing of terror networks under the cover of โKashmir solidarity.โ
Intelligence assessments suggest these unfolding developments signal a full-fledged revival of Pakistanโs Kashmir-centered jihadist strategy, actively supported by its military, intelligence agency ISI, and affiliated proxies.
