NEW DELHI: Business tycoons from Punjab have applauded the initiatives and policies taken by the Aam Aadmi Party government in the state, saying that it has created a “pro-industry environment” and provided a “conducive atmosphere” to the industrial sector.

The industrialists made these remarks at a meeting with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in Jalandhar on Monday.

Kamal Oswal, owner of Oswal Group, said that he had “never seen such a decisive government” that addresses the grievances of the industry swiftly. He said that the Mann government is “taking revolutionary steps” to create an industry-friendly environment in Punjab.

Sachit Jain of Vardhman Group praised the decisions taken by the Punjab government to promote the industry but also urged the government to further strengthen the basic infrastructure in the focal points.

Aditya Munjal of Hero Group said that the innovative steps taken by the Punjab government are “bolstering the confidence of the common people as well as the industrialists of the state.”

Amit Thapar, owner of Ganga Acrowools Limited, appreciated the steps taken by the Punjab government to further push the growth of industries in the state through the Invest Punjab portal. He said that industrialists are now able to get all required clearances online and there is no need to visit government offices.

Ludhiana-based industrialist Iqbal Singh said that he was facing a lot of trouble in getting a No Clearance Certificate (NOC) from the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA). He said that he lodged a complaint about this on the Punjab government’s WhatsApp number and the matter was resolved within a day. He praised the positive environment created by the Mann government and said that there is a “pro-industry environment” and “change is clearly visible in Punjab.”

Many other industrialists shared similar experiences and praised the state government for taking Punjab ahead in the industrial sector.
