New Delhi: BRS leader Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Tuesday lambasted the Congress party for failing to deliver on its promises around the caste census and political reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs)

Labeling the Congress-led model as “corrupt and opaque,” Kavitha claimed that Congress fears sharing caste data with the public.

Speaking at a press briefing, Kavitha questioned the legitimacy and transparency of the caste census conducted under the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government in Telangana.

“There is a 6% discrepancy in OBC numbers between our previous government’s survey and the current data. What are they hiding?” she asked.

She also called out similar failures in Congress-ruled Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, where caste census initiatives were either delayed or never conducted.

“Rahul Gandhi carries the Constitution in his pocket but fails to invoke Article 243D, which guarantees political reservation for OBCs in local bodies. If he truly believes in empowering OBCs, he should direct CM Revanth Reddy to act now,” Kavitha demanded.

The BRS leader further urged President Murmu to approve the reservation bill and warned that continued inaction would spark massive protests across Telangana.
