NEW DELHI: In a concerning incident, an explosion was witnessed outside the residence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP, Ajay Nishad’s relative’s house at Muzaffarpur in Bihar.

The blast has heightened tensions in the locality, prompting swift response from law enforcement agencies. Authorities suspect the explosion resulted from the activation of a crude bomb placed near the house, possibly with the intent to instill fear.

The incident occurred at the Kaji Mohammadpur Thana area, causing alarm as news of the blast quickly circulated. It has been confirmed that the residence belongs to Nishad’s elder sister and her family.

Following the blast, a comprehensive investigation has been initiated.

Reportedly, there have been ongoing dispute regarding the construction of a drain adjacent to the property which has fuelled tension between the family and the construction supervisors.

The family had expressed concerns about the construction, emphasising the preservation of their property boundaries.

Although no notable damage was reported, police officials remain on high alert in the area, actively probing into the matter.

The local Superintendent of Police, Rakesh Kumar, has confirmed the dispatch of a bomb disposal squad to assess the situation. Officials are also skimming through CCTV footage to identify individuals acting suspiciously around its vicinity.

The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad have safely secured the explosive material for further analysis.

Presently, law enforcement officials are conducting interviews with the MP’s relatives to understand the ongoing dispute in the locality.
