NEW DELHI: Actor and racing enthusiast Ajith Kumar met with a minor accident during the GT4 European Series in Italy. The incident occurred at the Misano circuit, where Ajith was competing in the second round of the championship. His car collided with a stationary vehicle on the track, forcing him to withdraw from the race. Thankfully, Ajith escaped unhurt.

In a video from the race, Ajith is seen stepping out of his car and helping track marshals clear debris — a rare gesture in professional motorsport that drew praise from commentators. One remarked, “Ajith Kumar out of the car, out of the race. It’s the first big damage we’ve seen from him this year. He’s a fine champ — goes and helps the marshals clear up the bodywork. Not many drivers would do that.”

Ajith, known for balancing his film career with his passion for racing, is now gearing up for the next round at Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps circuit. His racing journey, which began in 2003, includes stints in the Formula 2 Championship in 2010 and races across Germany, Malaysia, and other countries. After a decade-long break, he returned to the track with renewed enthusiasm.

Recently, the Indian government honoured Ajith with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to cinema and motorsport — a recognition of his versatility and dedication.

On the film front, Ajith was last seen in Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, which stands as Tamil cinema’s highest-grossing film of 2025. Currently on a brief break from films, Ajith is reportedly set to reunite with Ravichandran for his next project.
