PATNA: A complaint has been filed before a magistrateโ€™s court against DMK leader and Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalinโ€™s son Udhayanidhi for calling for the eradication of Sanatan Dharma.

The complaint has been filed by advocate Sunil Kumar Ojha before the civil court in Muzaffarpur district. The matter is scheduled for hearing on September 14.

โ€œReligious sentiments of millions of Hindus and followers of the Sanatan Dharma across the country have been hurt by the statement by Udhayanidhi,โ€ Ojha told media persons.

He further said, โ€œThe accused has given such a statement with the aim of political gain. In such a situation, strict legal action should be taken against the accused. The court has accepted the complaint.”

Speaking at an event on Saturday, the state minister called for eradication of Sanatan Dharma, comparing it to diseases like malaria, dengue, and corona.

โ€œSuch things should not be opposed, but should be destroyed,โ€ he told the gathering organised by the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers and Artists Association.

He said, “What is Sanatan? It is a word derived from the Sanskrit language. Sanatan is nothing but against equality and social justice.”

This is the second complaint against Udhayanidhi. Earlier, Supreme Court lawyer Vineet Jindal lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police calling for strict action for hurting the sentiments of crores of Hindus.
