New Delhi: In a significant political development, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh met with former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday, pledging full support to the India United Front in the upcoming elections.

The AAP later clarified that it would not contest the elections in Uttar Pradesh, instead extending full support to candidates from the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, who are part of the India United Front. Singh announced this decision in a joint press conference with Yadav.

Singh stated, “This election is about saving the country’s democracy and constitution and opposing authoritarian rule. There is no confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s victory. If the BJP were winning, they wouldn’t take action against opposition leaders during elections. This election is not happening under normal circumstances; it’s about saving democracy and opposing authoritarianism.”

He further asserted that the India United Front would win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and pledged that in Uttar Pradesh, wherever there are Samajwadi Party candidates, each worker and elected representative of the AAP would work to ensure victory for the India United Front candidates.

Akhilesh Yadav echoed these sentiments, stating that the AAP’s elected representatives and all workers were supporting their candidates in this crucial Lok Sabha election. He said, “There was a large rally in support of CM Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi. Like Delhi, Jharkhand’s Chief Minister Hemant Soren has also been sent to jail. The entire country knows that the BJP formed its government in Maharashtra using these institutions. Many leaders joining the BJP have said that although their bodies are going to the BJP, their souls are with you. These people are inducing fear and bringing opposition leaders into the BJP. Therefore, the Aam Aadmi Party is receiving full support from us to save the country’s democracy, constitution, and India’s identity worldwide.”

This development marks a significant shift in the political landscape ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, highlighting the AAP’s strategic decision to support the India United Front in a bid to protect democracy and end tyranny.
