Accusations fly: Kejriwal, Amanatullah Khan claim ED sent by Modi

NEW DELHI: The AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has accused the top leader of the BJP, PM Modi, of targeting opposition figures and labelled the prime minister as ‘arrogant.’ This statement was made Wednesday, in response to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducting raids at the residence of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan on Tuesday.

In fact, even Khan has asserted that the ED officers informed him that they were sent to conduct raids and had no alternative but to comply with orders. He stated, “I asked the ED officers if they suspected that we were involved in corruption. We, members of the AAP, want to work, and you are troubling us. The officers said, ‘What can we do? If we are sent, we have to come.’”

The Delhi CM said, “They (BJP) have only one motive which is suppressing the opposition leaders. PM Modi has become so arrogant. One can easily see arrogance in him, the way he walks and talks. He doesn’t consider humans as humans.”

This morning, Kejriwal visited Khan at his residence, where the Okhla MLA discussed the details surrounding the raid. Khan also presented his perspective on the ED operation at his home, indicating that the central agency conducted a 12-hour search but did not find anything.

The CM accused the PM of acting like a “king” during media interactions. “He doesn’t consider humans as humans. If the king of a country becomes so arrogant then how will that country progress,” Kejriwal remarked.

“Modi seeks revenge from the common people. We are ordinary people; we don’t stand a chance against him. If the king starts seeking revenge from ordinary people, then that country cannot prosper,” he added.

Furthermore, labelling the subsequent detentions of AAP leaders like Sanjay Singh and Manish Sisodia, along with the searches conducted by central agencies, as a “scheme,” he said, ” PM Modi wants to crush and finish the Aam Aadmi Party. The ED raid at Amanatullah’s place is part of PM Modi’s scheme of things to finish AAP.”

He also alleged that the BJP is neglecting issues within their own party, asserting that PM Modi is not genuinely committed to ending corruption. “The BJP government in Karnataka was nefariously termed as ’40 per cent commission government’, but no ED or CBI raid there either,” the AAP supremo emphasised.

“The BJP government is being spared from any ED or CBI raids. As per the latest CAG report, there have been numerous scams committed under the BJP government, but no ED or CBI raids or summons either. They have waived the loans, worth hundreds of crores but no raids or inquiries,” he further said.

According to Kejriwal, the BJP has transformed into a mechanism where they initially label opposition leaders as corrupt and subsequently absorb them into their own party. He argued that all the ongoing investigations are concocted with the aim of enticing all those involved in corruption to join the BJP, rather than genuinely addressing corruption issues.
