NEW DELHI: AAP MP Raghav Chadha on Friday raised the alarm in Parliament over unsafe working conditions for gig workers, demanding an end to the “10-minute delivery pressure” imposed by major service platforms and calling for urgent labour protections.
Today in Parliament, I spoke about the pain & misery of:
Zomato & Swiggy delivery boys,
Blinkit & Zepto riders,
Ola & Uber drivers,
Urban Company plumbers and technicians. They deserve dignity, protection and fair pay. pic.twitter.com/8ga2gxAoMu

Chadha said delivery executives and service professionals working with Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit, Zepto, Ola, Uber, and Urban Company are the “invisible wheels of the Indian economy”, yet face constant exploitation, traffic risks, and poor pay.
In a post after the session, Chadha wrote:
“Today in Parliament, I spoke about the pain & misery of Zomato & Swiggy delivery boys, Blinkit & Zepto riders, Ola & Uber drivers, Urban Company plumbers and technicians. They deserve dignity, protection and fair pay.”
He said unrealistic delivery timelines force riders to overspeed, break traffic rules, and risk accidents, creating widespread nuisance and safety hazards on city roads.
Chadha urged the government to introduce comprehensive gig worker legislation, including insurance, minimum wages, and social security.
