This year, Hindi cinema led the winners’ list, with The Kerala Story, 12th Fail, and Jawan securing top honours across multiple categories.
‘The Kerala Story’ Sweeps Multiple Awards
The Kerala Story emerged as one of the evening’s biggest winners, making a strong mark in the awards tally. The film, directed by Sudipto Sen, was honoured with the Best Direction award, acknowledging his compelling storytelling and ability to tackle a sensitive and socially significant subject.
The movie also won Best Cinematography, credited to Prasantanu Mohapatra for his impactful visual storytelling that brought depth and realism to the film’s intense narrative. The Best Actor in a Leading Role award was shared by two powerhouse performers — Shah Rukh Khan for Jawan, in which he played a dual role in a high-octane action-drama that captivated audiences across the globe, and Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail, where his heartfelt performance as a struggling UPSC aspirant won over critics and viewers alike.
